St Albans Assassins: Rules

 

Preamble

    1. These rules have been made TJ using common sense
    2. In the event of conflicts between the Constitution or Standing Orders and these Rules, the Constitution and Standing Orders take precedence.
    3. The spirit of the rules is more important than the letter of the rules.

Introduction

    1. Assassins is a mock combat game for a large number of players.
    2. Each team will attempt to assassinate the opposition without being assassinated themselves.
    3. By agreeing to the rules and playing the game you accept that you may be shot at during the day or night.
    4. All players will be pictured on the website to allow target identification.  Anyone deceased will be marked so.  If you do not provide a picture you cannot kill anyone.
    5. We accept no liability for the actions of its members (so don’t break the law!).
    6. Every so often a VIP will arrive in St Albans, if successfully assassinated bonus points will be awarded to the team and member.  The VIP will have an online dossier outlining where they can be found.

Breaches of the rules

    1. If you are caught breaching any rules you will be judged and sentenced dependent on the severity.  The punishments could be:

                                                             i.      You will be banned from the current game

                                                          ii.      Nominated as a universal target (even your own team can shoot you and trust me extreme prejudice will be used)

                                                        iii.      Firing Squad

                                                        iv.      Made a universal target for a set period of time (best bet is to hide!)

    1. Don’t break the law; we won’t help you out of jail.

Targets

    1. Any opposing team members
    2. Any VIP
    3. Any rogue members going it alone

Deaths

    1. Be struck with a knife, safe projectile, or the main part of a water jet in the torso or head. Limb hits do not count.
    2. Be made noticeably wet by a grenade on the torso or head. Again, limb hits do not count.
    3. Be poisoned in accordance with the poisoning rules below
    4. Report the death with the following by e-mail host@vgahost.co.uk:

                                                             i.      The Killer(s)

                                                          ii.      The Victim(s)

                                                        iii.      The Weapon(s) used

                                                        iv.      The Time and Location of the incident.

                                                           v.      Details of any Innocents (non-members) involved.

                                                        vi.      Anything else you consider important/embarrassing/funny, as awards are often made on the basis of kill reports.

                                                      vii.      Video / photo footage of the death

Public Areas

    1. You cannot kill someone in an overly crowded zone.  If there are more than 5 possible witnesses the kill will be revoked and the assassinated bought back to life.
    2. Drive bys will be permitted but you may not break the law (speeding, kerb crawling, running innocents over).  As long as it is done safely the kill will be counted, even if people are present.

Weapons

    1. Guns

                                                             i.      Guns that fire BBs or other hard ammunition are not permitted under any circumstances.

                                                          ii.      Cap guns are not permitted.

                                                        iii.      Ink guns, paint guns and other such messy weapons are not permitted.

                                                        iv.      Guns that look realistic are not permitted.

                                                           v.      Nerf or Super Soakers are permitted.

                                                        vi.      Silly string is permitted

    1. Grenades

                                                             i.      Water Bombs (Grenades) are permitted.

    1. Knives

                                                             i.      Foam, soft plastic, paper / cardboard knives etc may all be used.

                                                          ii.      Handmade paper / cardboard knives must be knife shaped and clearly marked with the word KNIFE.

    1. Posion

                                                             i.      You can poison someone's food or drink by placing a piece of paper marked poison UNDER their food or drink.

                                                          ii.      A significant proportion of the poisoned food or drink must be consumed for the poison to be effective.

                                                        iii.      Poison takes 15 minutes to kill its victim.

                                                        iv.      The victim may take an antidote to the poison within the 15 minutes. Antidote consists of anything that changes the colour of your tongue such as food colouring.

    1. Car bombs

                                                             i.      If you are skilled enough to get a CD into some ones car Stereo that has a message stating it is a car bomb and that the people in the car are now dead, you will be awarded the kills.

    1. Other weapons

                                                             i.      If the weapon is not mention above then it IS NOT allowed.  E.g Paint ball guns, BB guns, Paint bombs, flour bombs etc…

                                                          ii.      If this is breached see 3. Breaches of the rules.

Clothing

    1. Do not wear masks

End Game

    1. Each team that has surviving members will be awarded points
    2. Each game will last one week

The afterlife

    1. Once dead you will assume responsibility as a law official.  If anyone breaks the rules during the game then it is likely you will be called upon to follow the sentencing through.  You will only be able to kill people on the breached rules list

Hitmen

    1. Each team can hire one hitman per game
    2. A hitman can kill any person designated by the hiring team
    3. If more than 5 witnesses are present then the team who hired the hitman must lose a player
    4. If less than 5 witnesses are present the team do not lose a player
    5. Hiring a hitman will deduct 5 points from your teams score
    6. If you have less than 5 points you cannot hire a hitman
    7.  No other team can hire a hitman that has already been hired in that game
    8. The same team cannot use the same hitman in consecutive games
    9. If a team see’s a hitman then it may be published on the site

Points

    1. 1 point per kill
    2. The last team standing will be awarded 5 points as long as they have two or members still alive.
    3. If the last team standing has less that 2 members still alive 2 points will be awarded.
    4. If more than one team survive to the end of the game each team will be awarded 2 points.
    5. If one team completely assassinates another team without any other factions being involved a bonus 5 points will be awarded.

Violence and Physical contact

    1. If violence is used then the member will be killed off from that round.  The team that was attacked will gain the kill point.
    2. Physical contact is to be avoided where possible.
